The activist and creative director for Watermelon Pictures married the Emmy-winning television producer, who now works in the mental health sector, at her father Mohamed Hadid\u2019s<\/strong> home on October 18<\/strong>, a date chosen to honor Ross\u2019s parents\u2019 wedding anniversary.<\/p>\n

A Modern Love Story with a Twist of Fate<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Alana and Ross\u2019s love story began, as many modern romances do, on a dating app. Yet the meeting almost never happened. \u201cI felt like I was never going to meet anyone on the app,\u201d Alana told Vogue. \u201cThen, no joke, I did one last swipe, and there he was.\u201d After two weeks of chatting, they agreed to an unconventional 8 a.m. coffee date<\/strong> at a caf\u00e9 in the woods in Topanga, California. \u201cIt was so beautiful. We were there basically by ourselves and talked for hours. I knew right away, that\u2019s my husband.\u201d<\/p>\n

Three years later, Ross proposed during a birthday trip for Alana\u2019s 41st, in 2024. He had planned to pop the question at dinner but changed course during a peaceful walk on a black sand beach near Big Sur. \u201cWe were all alone, and he asked me to marry him there. It was perfect and very us,\u201d Alana recalled. The moment was spontaneous, she was even wearing sweatpants, but Ross\u2019s choice of ring carried deep meaning. He proposed with a trillion-cut amethyst<\/strong> ring<\/strong> that once belonged to his late mother, Janet. \u201cHe knew I\u2019d love something vintage with family history,\u201d Alana shared.<\/p>\n

A Backyard Ceremony Full of Heart<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The couple\u2019s wedding planning was just as intentional. They wanted a venue rich with meaning, and her father\u2019s Los Angeles home<\/strong> was the natural choice. Fall was chosen for its warm, magical energy.<\/p>\n

Festivities began with a cozy rehearsal dinner at Petit Ermitage<\/strong>, followed by cocktails and a dessert spread that Alana joked was \u201cevery dessert they had.\u201d For the rehearsal, she wore a beaded Clio Peppiatt<\/strong> dress before changing into a two-piece Sandra Mansour<\/strong> set with a long train. \u201cI definitely did a lot of looks,\u201d she laughed. \u201cI\u2019m 42 and waited a long time to get married!\u201d<\/p>\n

For the ceremony, Alana wore a vintage Vivienne Westwood<\/strong> gown sourced from Tab Vintage. \u201cWhen I tried it on, I immediately knew it was mine,\u201d she said. The archival piece was larger than her size, allowing her tailor to customize it to perfection while preserving its stunning sleeves.<\/p>\n

Her accessories carried emotional weight, her mother Mary\u2019s amethyst earrings<\/strong>, a custom diamond wedding band by Sofia Kaman<\/strong>, and her grandmother\u2019s ring<\/strong> tied to her bouquet of California wildflowers<\/strong>. The flowers were even stitched into her veil, creating a seamless connection between family, nature, and love.<\/p>\n

Her bridesmaids, Bella, Gigi, and Marielle Hadid<\/strong>, each chose green dresses and went barefoot<\/strong>, embracing the natural, grounded vibe of the outdoor ceremony. They also wore Dorsey jewelry gifted by Alana. Her brother Anwar Hadid<\/strong> served as \u201cmale-of-honor,\u201d walking alongside his sisters to a Palestinian song, \u201cYa Tal3een\u201d by Dana Salah<\/strong>. Alana walked down the aisle to Led Zeppelin\u2019s \u201cThank You\u201d<\/strong>, symbolizing timeless love.<\/p>\n

Being Palestinian<\/strong>, Alana ensured her heritage was woven throughout the day, from the drinks reception featuring Mokafe espresso and matcha and Drink Palestina colas<\/strong>, to gift bags that included olive green keffiyehs by Kuvrd<\/strong>. \u201cEspecially with what\u2019s going on in the world, it was important that people remembered there are others who are suffering,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Dinner, Dancing, and Family<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The reception blended elegance and intimacy. Guests dined at tables adorned with moss and hydrangeas by Melissa Andre Design Co<\/strong>, in keeping with the woodland theme. The menu featured a Persian salad, grilled branzino, hanger steak<\/strong>, and eggplant parmigiana<\/strong>, with a half-chocolate, half-lemon meringue cake<\/strong> for dessert.<\/p>\n

Alana and Ross shared their first dance to Adrianne Lenker\u2019s \u201cNo Machine\u201d<\/strong>, followed by a touching father-daughter dance to The Beatles\u2019 \u201cYesterday\u201d<\/strong>, her dad\u2019s favorite song.<\/p>\n

As the night continued, Alana slipped into another Sandra Mansour<\/strong> gown for the reception, and guests filled the dance floor to a mix of Abba and Arabic music<\/strong>, a perfect reflection of the couple\u2019s joyful, diverse spirit. The official festivities wrapped up around 11:30 p.m., followed by an after-party at Petit Ermitage<\/strong> and a pool party the next day<\/strong> for family and friends.<\/p>\n

Looking back, Alana described the wedding as \u201ceverything we hoped for and more.\u201d Friends and family traveled from Tunisia, Kuwait, Paris, and Hawaii<\/strong> to celebrate their union. \u201cI feel like we were surrounded by love the whole time,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
